Explosive Scent Detection

Our dogs are imported from Europe and tested under the highest levels of law enforcement standards. Our dog selection is critical to providing the highest levels of detection. Each dog is individually tested to perform in an array of environmental challenges thereby ensuring prevention of environmental distractions during detection deployment. All dogs are skilled in odor detection and recognition of all five categories of explosives and homemade explosives (HMEs) – including TATP, HMTD, Potassium Chlorate, Ammonium Nitrate and Urea Nitrate. Each dog is selected to ensure obedience, social adaption, drive, and temperament are of high value in order to achieve maximum success temperament to perform bomb detection functions successfully in high stress and demanding environments.

All dogs are trained to recognize the various sources of odor recognition and methods of distribution. In an effort to avoid food distraction during detection all our dogs are rewarded through both play and toys. This method of training helps to prevent false positives in the explosive detection stage. Our dogs are trained by nationally recognized explosive detection trainers and are re-tested quarterly to ensure reinforcement detection methods are maintained at the highest levels.
